The mosaique is a house in central Lüneburg that opened in March 2018. mosaique is more than a house: it is a movement and a vision for a peaceful world where different origins, cultures, religions, ideas, principles, and attitudes are perceived as positive and desirable. In this open, protected space, people from all over the world with different social backgrounds have the opportunity to learn from one another, to live together and to organize events.
Communicative, lively, creative, and respectful.
The mosaique is a symbol for a world full of great differences. It facilitates dialogue, exchange, openness, trust, and acceptance between people.
People have the opportunity to shape everyday life with others of different backgrounds by living together, sharing stories and experiences, and working together in a respectful, supportive, multilingual environment.
The mosaique has four main aspects:
- Two intercultural flatshares, two smaller apartments, and a duplex apartment for people from all over the world
- An open meeting place
- An event space where cultural, musical, and culinary events are organized by people from all over the world.
- A central point of contact for refugees looking for advice in Lüneburg (organized by the amikeco welcome initiative).
